VoIP Phone System

by: Roy King

The
VOIP phone system has become the new virtual standard as the accepted way
we communicate throughout the world.

This new
technology is cosmetically the same as your traditional phone, the
difference being in the transmission of the voice signals. Your voice signals are
routed through Internet lines rather than traditional landlines. The software that was
created to make this system possible makes it much easier for future developers to
add more features and or update the current technology in place.

Using an high speed Internet connection, a traditional phone handset or
microphone, combined with the proper telephone adapter that will allow your
voice signal to be converted to a digital voice packet and then transmitted
through Internet telecommunication lines to the person to which the call is
routed to.

The
telephone adapter is always connected to the main base of your analog
phone, which is then connected to your computer, your cordless phone will still
provide you with all the features it was designed for you to use. The range of your
cordless phone will still remain the same.

Cordless
VoIP phones uses an Ethernet card located in the base of the phone to
transmit your voice signal through a broadband Internet connection to complete
your phone call, this is the same technology mainly used for a wireless network
adapter. These phones are available both in corded and cordless and cost between
$100 to $300.

Cordless phone are very similar to current day cell phones offering many great
features. Multiple handsets, colored LCD viewing screens, address books, choices of
ring tones, plus many more features are available depending on your
provider.
Bluetooth technology has also designed special headsets to be used with
VoIP
phone systems allowing the user to have more freedom to accomplished additional
tasks while talking.

VoIP service providers will vary with the plans offered, but many will transfer your
current telephone number to your new
VoIP service plan. If you move or travel
frequently just about all the plans have features in place that you can update your
address information with your service provider quickly and easily.

A
business VoIP solution offers an array of multi-line VoIP phones to make
businesses more productive and efficient.
VoIP business phones are designed
with an integral Ethernet cards. These phones are designed with cutting edge
features to provide functionality for daily businesses on the go.

As discussed earlier, this type of
phone system is computer based making it easier
for developers and phone designers to accommodate the business sector providing
better customer service and in house productivity.

Business VoIP features may include; headset capabilities, client address books,
large LCD screens for viewing phone features, many available call functions, records
of caller, voicemail from your PC, sending voicemail to an email account, plus many
more features offered by your
service provider.

VoIP Phone systems work like one big happy family when combined with VoIP PBX
services ( Private Branch eXchange; a telephone switching system used to serve
one business or office. Automated switching components maintain all internal
switching between office phones and then relay outbound and inbound calls using
the public telephone network).

PBX service options have many features that can enhance you business and
productivity at a reasonable cost. Some service providers for PBX systems will
pre-configure your IP telephones, hardware, software onto your server before
they ship the systems to your business making setting up your system one easy
task.

Small businesses now can enjoy all the features available in an enterprise-class
telephone system by combining a
VoIP solution with a open platform PBX service.

If your a business owner looking to expand your productivity and to improve your
customer service economically, or just a home owner that is looking for ways to
save on your monthly phone bills, consider a
VoIp service provider to find a
solution to your needs.
